Breaking Down My Travel Stories: From Nevada to Colorado*

In the past I posted every day, so every date had a page. When I was doing it live that was fine. But with the delays I’ve created, that doesn’t quite work. So it was breaking it up into states. Which is fine if you’re glancing off Wyoming for half a day. But I just had to split Nevada, and probably could have split it again into thirds.

And now California. I drove to San Francisco. I had a great afternoon with a friend that included vintage video games, impromptu street rod gatherings, and an awesome restaurant. I went to a concert. I rode in a Waymo. I went to Big Sur, Bixby Bridge, crossed another desert. And then spent three day at Yosemite, with too many things to list. A drive over an elusive mountain pass and I’m done.

So you see that can’t be one page. And breaking it apart like Nevada might work. But I have an idea. Partly due to too much content, partly due to the fact that I’m experiencing mental health issues that prevent me from writing, and partly because I need a way to knock out smaller chunks and make progress that way.

So I think I’ll be telling stories. They’ll be mostly chronological. They’ll be just as interesting as before. And some of those stories might just be the recollection of crossing a desert or mountain pass. But ideally this is all going to result in more posts, more often, in bite sized chunks, and give you readers more opportunity to comment on posts.

That commenting part is a really good idea, you should consider it! (Except my sister, she’s a dependable commenter already!

* Yes, there’s more after Colorado. Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota. But they’re somewhat boring, so..
